The Harlem Valley Homestead crew participated in the Town of Dover Road Clean Up and Town Beautification Day, an annual town event that takes place in April to celebrate Earth Day and the beginning of springtime. We concentrated our efforts on the portion of Route 55 that runs alongside the farm. This specific area allowed us to gather together and take collective action in caring for the land we inhabit.
Stewarding the land is about more than just beautification; it’s about protecting ecosystems, promoting biodiversity, and ensuring the well-being of present and future generations. Every piece of litter we collected from the roadside was a step toward mitigating the environmental impact of human activity and safeguarding the beautiful land we occupy.
